Sears Holdings Names Proven Industry Leader to Lead Its Tools Business Unit
HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill., May 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Sears Holdings (NASDAQ: SHLD) announced today that Sam Solomon has joined the company as SVP and President of its Tools business. Â Mr. Solomon is responsible for developing and driving growth and profit opportunities for one of the company's cornerstone businesses. Â He was recently CEO and President of The Coleman Company, Inc. Â

Mr. Solomon comes to Sears Holdings from The Coleman Company, Inc. where most recently he served as president and chief executive officer since 2007 after being promoted from the chief financial officer role he assumed when he joined the company in 2005. Â Prior to that, Mr. Solomon served as chief financial officer for SPX Corporation and Kidde plc. Â He began his career in finance with increasingly senior roles at Procter & Gamble and The Coca-Cola Company. Â
