Sears Helps Customers Get the Most for Their Tax-Rebate Dollars
Shopping for 'Back to School' Has Never Been Easier
Sears, Roebuck and Co. (NYSE: S) today announced that customers who receive a tax rebate can bring their checks to Sears and apply them toward a purchase or a payment, at no cost to the customer.
Beginning today, the U.S. government is issuing 25 million tax rebate checks to eligible taxpayers and Sears is making it easy for customers to use those dollars.
"This is a great opportunity for customers to stock up on their back-to-school needs or to use the rebate to purchase that new washing machine, television or refrigerator," said Bill White, executive vice president and general manager of Sears' full-line stores. "With our unique merchandise mix, Sears is a great resource to outfit our customers' homes and families. All the customer needs to do is bring their rebate check to Sears, and after they're done shopping, they can use their endorsed check like cash toward the purchase."
Any difference in the amount of the rebate check and the customer's purchase will be given back to the customer in cash.
